Love the truck. It's put in work in its first 1300 miles no doubt. One thing that gets me though...are Tacomas generally loud? Ticky? I came from a 2008 Acura RL so I know it wouldn't be the same. Previously, I had owned a 2007 Tundra 5.7L and I don't remember the engine being as loud as this. Everything is peachy but the engine noise has me scratching my dome.

Side note: at about 120 miles I floored it merging onto the freeway. Literally floored it. Had no choice thanks to a tailgating Camero.

some of this, a little of that
They are pretty loud, I wouldn't worry about it.

Glad to be here and it's good to hear my truck is in the norm! I have a lot of reading to do today.

I went from an 05 DC Sport to a 14 DC OR 4x4 and could barely hear the people in the cab while driving. It was like a crowded restaurant on my shotgun damaged hearing. Stock radio is crap, could barely hear it. Yes its a noisy ride, I think a bit worse than my old Sport.

I went the sound deadening route and did an audio upgrade its much better now.

I had a 2000 Tacoma that sounded like it had a knocking cylinder. It was bad...but the truck was perfect.

    Some stuff...
I pulled up next to a buddy with a Beemer and they said "Is that your truck ticking or my BMW?" I said it was mine, the Taco Tick. Apparently BMWs tick too, but only when they are having problems.
