I never said that they don't DoorDing, wtf. I am saying that you should be able to run Icon's, extended or regular travel, without an aftermarket UCA. I know the aftermarket's are supposed to give you 1-2" of additional travel. I am not arguing that. If you don't feel like shelling out that kind of coin on a setup that otherwise runs fine and get's you through most of your wheeling needs, who do it?

I mean, yeah, that could be something you say. If you are a jackass that's into that kind of crap. I'll pass on that though.

Here's the thing. I jack up the truck all the time and not once have I ever seen the stock UCA hit the coil, so I really don't know what you are talking about.

    Well then

I think he means he still has stock suspension components and is only using the rough country 3" spacers to achieve lift. He is trying to get across that he thinks the ride should not be affected since he has the same shocks and coils. He probably didn't know spacers were a nono. I don't think he was claiming to not have lifted it.

He was mocking you(or others), he doesn't actually say that.

    Well you see..

Notice I underlined the most contradictory parts.

The only thing that I'm gonna add to this shitshow is that if/when you replace your upper ball joint, take a look and see what the cage of it looks like with the boot off, because when you are hanging the weight of the suspension on the side of the ball joint repeatedly, and in a quick fashion like jumping your truck, it WILL dent the side of the cage. Take it for what it's worth.

You got extended travel SAWs , removed your sway bar and limited yourself with stock UCAs ?

What you are seeing from the experienced members here is good solid advice, what you are telling him is he doesn't need UCAs because you jump your truck. I think we all know who the jackass is.

Well this has turned into a shit show! I'm sure some people in here also believe that lift gets rid of tire rub too.

That's what I deciphered as well from the OP

You must be sterile then :D

This right here is what I am talking about. I want to see a picture of it maxed out hitting the cage. If that so is the case I will be in the market for UCA's in the coming months.

You made me curious now. I'll be jacking up the truck on my next couple of days off and moving the boot or removing it to have a look.

That right there is crappy! As long as we are on topic, what is the key highlight in the aftermarket UCA's that's supposed to allow more range of movement vs. The stockers? Are they just a tad longer or what? I know the SPC's still run a BJ but I've seen pics where the range of it's motion leaves a little more room for movement before hitting the cage even at it's max out.

I still have the ties on and tried to get clamps on once, the frame plus the rubber spacers that come with the hardware didn't allow to fasten them that way..at some point I'll have to get the mounts for them. I may have to do weld on's though because my BF has a frame brace which uses a hole where the reservoirs originally fastened on.

Yeah that's definitely one of the main advantages I noticed when looking at them. They are all either tubular or boxed which is great for strength and durability vs. The stocks which are just thin steel.

    Gotcha. That makes sense.

I read everyone else's comments and have been laughing this entire time. I say everything I said sarcastically and jokingly, but I think some of the other guys thought I was being serious. Thanks for the laughs guys. I'll be checking my stuff out shortly.

Yeah all jokes aside I know things will break/bend whatever after harsh landings so I want to do what I can to minimize that, and make sure that my range of motion is not being limited to the joint cages or other sensitive areas like those.

I have the Icon sway bar relocate brackets to accommodate the SAW CO's additional space that they take up. I'm sure you know what those look like. They also have a recessed hole. Will those brackets still work without modification? The braces which are attached to the frame for the BF bumper also have walls which protrude out. That's the thing which I'm curious about in those braces. Nice touch on the shrink tubing BTW. That was actually a really good idea..I have plenty of the tubing at home.

I might have to. They appear to be made of simple sheetmetal. I'm gonna check out those brackets at Polyperformance. Thanks for the tips on that stuff dude!

always worth bringing up the argument against UCAs one more time
just so the newbies understand the level of contempt and derision they will recieve
should they choose to believe their own logic :p
