Since Toyota no longer makes the Cargo Cross Bars Part No. PT785-35053, I decided to make my own to transport my surfboards.
I decided to go with round tubing, the same OD as Yakima, so that I can install their ski/snowboard rack or bike mounts.
I have already offer for sale a motorcycle tie-down bar; I am working to get a larger locking bed storage box (alternative to the Tuffy box) manufactured and for sale.... I have several ideas I am working on / made proto-types of... this is one I would like to get feedback on, and see how much of an interest there would be for these bars. They are still in the proto-type stage, but you get the idea.

Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Jesse

Those look good! I know I wanted the OEM ones a few years ago but they didnt make them anymore so I bought the INNO kit that has the square bars like the Thule rack systems. I love them cause I swapped over all my ski/snowboard and bike mounts from the Thule to INNO system and everything works great!!

I feel like you should list a price before asking if anyone is interested. Price will make or break interest.

I like that they are compatible to Yakima accessories. Great idea!

I am waiting on a quote from the laser-cutter... That is the one cost I don't have. Once I get that, I will post a "close estimate price".

I think that depends on the bed length / bed rail length; I put a 9' 6" in my truck on occasion... which is about 3 1/2 feet hanging over.
I made a proto-type to allow the bar to be right over the tailgate, for better longboard support.

I will post as this moves forward.

Just sent you an email on your website. I just found this. Are you still working on these. Are you willing to sell any prototypes?

    This fell to the back-burner....
I am actually going to move forward with this, but changing the design to "bar mounts" that use a Yakima round cross bar.... Rather than a fully welded version, as seen in the pictures above.
This will reduce the product cost as well as the S&H cost.

Shoot me an email about a prototype....

Those are pretty cool. I don't necessarily need anything like that yet...
I don't have a 'decent' way to carry Kayaks on the truck. We always just take the SUV (kayaks on roof) and/or throw the kayaks in the bed. We have Yakima mounts for the SUV.

These would be ideal if they were 'easy on - easy off" similar to what Yakima does with their mounts. Hand knobs & such so you can install and remove the bars easily from day-to-day.
