Hello, I have a 2000lb winch that has been sitting in the garage forever. Can I put something like that on my truck and will it be able to get me unstuck? Any help would be nice! :)

That sounds like a winch for a quad. If you are really stuck and need a winch for your truck, you will need something in the 6000-8000 lb. range.

A 2000lb winch would probably pull your truck. On level ground. In neutral.

    Answer is no.

To overly simplify it a winch should be twice as strong as the trucks weight. 4000lbs truck = 8000lbs winch.

In this scenario, it'll be easier and cheaper just to get the wife or gf to get out and push.
