My apologies if this has been covered before. I searched google and TW, but couldn't find anything.

Anyway... I have a constant, very annoying squeaking/rubbing sound coming from the surround of my automatic shifter. It started after I lifted my truck, so I'm assuming it's got something to do with the stiffer suspension.

If I press the recessed black plastic around the shifter, I can replicate the noise exactly. Sounds like hard plastic rubbing on hard plastic.

I plan on removing the center console and hunting down the source soon, but I figured I'd see if anyone has experience with this before I dive in... So, anyone have an easy fix??

    Thanks!

Perhaps the shift cable has moved since the lift and the driveline vibration is causing the cable to tug/rattle against the console parts?
