It's almost as if GM is acting like Toyota did when they were building up all this brand loyalty and Toyota is acting like GM when they were ruining their brand loyalty...

I seriously can't believe anybody on a Tacoma forum would even remotely suggest the purchase of a Colorado, regardless of its engine options.

My wife said this same thing, it does have that car appeal to it.

I'm with KB voodo, I wont even consider this thing as my past truck 05 Colorado was absoulutly horrible. I know different platform now but it just left a bad taste in my mouth, everyone is just going off the looks and gizmos this thing has. Wait until you drive one or look at it up close and tell us what you think then.

I hear ya... I do like the looks, except for that ugly angled bed/cab line.(should be more verticle) but F buying a Chevy. Still doesn't have the reliability and value of a Tacoma. Just because it looks cool now? No thanks

And yes I think this is about the 7th thread on this... Haha

Sure, I think it looks good as well, not getting one though. I haven't seen anyone say "I'm trading my Tacoma for one asap."

I would be interested. Also in the global Ranger and Amarok if they make it here on day.

In all fairness, I won't be looking to replace this truck for another 5-8 years as not having a payment beats any new truck for me, but once I'm ready, at least most of the bugs will be worked out on these. 3rd gen Tacoma is an option as well. No brand loyalty here. Whatever I like and works the best for me at the time.

I think the average mid size truck buyer would be foolish not to look at them. For those that aren't die-hard Toyota or Nissan fans, it's a good looking truck with lots of options and potentially better MPG for presumably a good price.

Aside from reliability, my biggest concern would be the size. I remember a few people posting a comment from an article where GM said the size of the Colorado/Canyon would be 90% the size of their full size. Not sure the average mid-size truck buyer would want or need something that large.

    Bone stock for now....
I wonder what percentage of domestic full size truck owners will drop down to the new Colorado just because they now have a domestic option? Some of those guys are die hard buy American types.

the estimated mpg's will change over time due to maintenance, modifications and mileage…so im not worried about that one. When I had 90k miles I was still getting 26mpg on a good day, with 33 swampers, a/p bumpers, extra weight I was down to 14. Now im at 17-19 with stock 245s and a/p bumpers with extra weight. Little does the gas mileage concern me.

The selling points to the average truck buyer is the extra options. Same thing why my dad bought a titan over a tundra in 04. Some guys want more, others like me want it simple.

This new Colo came up in a discussion I was in and if it has more rear leg room and bed space, that's a plus. The con is it's a Chevy. I guess time will tell.

horn that plays "la cuka racha,"

I just finished reading an article about the new Chevy Colorado and was thinking the same thing. Can't wait to see what Toyota counters with.

Look at the photo below and that might be true. Granted the Colorado is in the foreground and the full size trucks are behind it so there might be some depth perception issues there. It does look like it will be on the large size of midsize.

No sizes yet posted on the Chevy website though they do talk about soundproofing. I was in a family members new Silverado and was impressed on how quite that thing was inside driving on the highway on a windy day.
