Anything that attempts to add HP/TQ to the stock engines, aside from the supercharger approach. Just my opinion coming to the Tacoma from a high-performance vehicle.

(Don't get me wrong, I love my Tacoma and I think it has adequate power stock)

The easiest way to ruin a truck is with the wheels. Honestly, pretty much anything KMC makes I classify as "tacky".

Chrome. Chrome on the bumpers and wheels is acceptable. Grill... maybe... anywhere else, no.

Those little bull bars. They kinda say "I can't afford a brush guard, and I'm too impatient to save". Lightbars are acceptable, like the Avid and N-Fab ones.

HID lights in non-HID housings. That needs to be a capital offense.

    Those X-Metal mesh grilles.

    Blacking out EVERYTHING.

To back track a little about the offroad bumpers and the air bag sensors:

"As for the airbags, the sensors are located on the frame rails and are inertia driven so it has no bearing on what bumper you have up front. So don't let the ARB 'air bag compliant' advertisement for their bumpers fool you."

    Source: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...o-i-really-need-steel-bumper.html#post8984327

Not sure if this is the case but I thought I would bring it up in case anyone else has concerns with bumpers.

My only concern with my bumpers is for the dumb s.o.b. that hits my truck in traffic. Haha.In reference to other comments, I get that not everybody has terrain like we do here in Arizona but for technical rock crawling there's just no other way to go than aftermarket w/ max approach and departure angles and as much strength as possible. If u wheel here u either armor your truck or you break your truck.and max ground clearence without becoming top heavy is a must so 33 11.5 is s.o.p. But like the man said- to each is own. Its your truck- build it how you like it and f everybody else.;)

Yeah, I didnt think that aftermarket bumpers had any effect on airbag deployment. It's good marketing for ARB though.

While I was out for a bike ride today and I saw a really tacky mod on a truck that pulled up next to me at a light. Someone had put a Nissan Frontier on their TRD Off Road bed side decals. No pictures as he drove off before I could get my phone out, but they were definitely TRD OR decals on the Nissan.

Right now I wish I had a Tacoma, it has been in the body shop for two weeks to have minor rear end damage repaired. I "might" get it back this coming Wednesday or Thursday.

Not against them in theory, it's just I rarely see a respectful approach... Usually the truck/car has it full rear window, on top of poorly applied (faded purple) tint, dents, rusted paint, and generally hasn't be wash/waxed since being resold for the third time. Not my idea of paying respect to a loved one/friend. However, I have seen some nice armed forces and fire/police "in memory" stickers. On well maintained trucks they can actually look good mixed w/ other service stickers.

    I concur.

Nothing says "I miss and love you" quite like a ragged-ass die cut sticker mounted at an off angle in the back window of a Neon.

Now this is a classy RIP (photo by me, from Kings Island last summer):

He / she couldn't splurge for the extra $10 for a personalized plate that said "Elisa" instead of the $200 Gatling gun muffler :notsure:

Well in his defense, I checked on oplates.com and "Elisa" is already taken. "DeadSis" is available though.

I wouldn't drive that truck even to haul manure off the farm, what was the guy thinking?

I love CJ's, I have one myself! Nice!

You're good man. You know what they say... "opinions are like assholes, everybody has one and they all stink" :D

If the bumper is stout enough to not crumple and hit the airbag sensor, that would be the case. I hit a deer pulling a lowboy trailer goin down the highway, no airbag deployment.

I like your sig pic!

I'm pretty sure the air bags are g sensors, not crush sensors. Your vehicle has to stop faster than is possibly by the brakes in order for them to deploy. This means going 60-0 in .1 seconds. As for arb putting the claim on their bumper, it is just something they put on to sell more bumpers.
