Stupid Offroad Question

I've tried searching, but its difficult when the question is "What the hell is this?"

So....what the hell is this X shaped thing that is in the back of some Offroads? Is it a speaker? Just my best guess...

 

Its the flux capacitor. Allows speeds over 88mph without accidental time travel.

C'mon guys, Everyone knows that Flux Capacitors have a "Y" shape.

 

It's a subwoofer, I had one in my '09 Accesscab.

 

I don't think it's an offroad thing, I'm pretty sure it's an access cab thing.

Nope, I've had an access cab in the 2013 Sport model and the 2010 SR5 model, but never had the subwoofer.

I'm looking for another access cab now, and the only time I've seen this is in the offroads. Kinda odd really, because it seems more like a 'Sport' thing.

EDIT: I saw one on a Sport today, first time ever.
