I am looking at buying a used tacoma. I am hoping you guys can help me out on the resale value of the long bed vs short bed? Are the long beds harder to resale or are they sought after more? What's your opinions on the two. Thanks for the help!

Owning a longbed has better resale value as a longbed suggests the owner demonstrates leadership, confidence, skill, intelligence, dominance, and power.

For years, the longbed owner has always commanded and received respect from shortbed owners.

    ..... at least that's how I see it. :D

DCSB is the only way to go. At least if your parking it in my garage. Seriously only have 1.5" to spare when the truck is in.

    This is a good point

OP , DCLB is the way to go unless you own a garage designed to house a shopping cart , in that case DCLB is the way to go just park outside

This. Do you want a truck you can use, or just a vehicle you can resell? If you get what you like, drive it and enjoy it. Down the road, if you need to sell it, don't worry, it will sell if you take care of it, long bed or short.

Can't get DCLB in a manual though  which is why I ended up with an ACLB.

Short Beds outsell LB 10-1, so there will be more buyers for a used short bed.

If my composite bed ever wears out I'm going to build a 7 foot aluminum bed so I can close the tailgate with two dirt bikes in the back.

Has to do with what others in your area are looking for at that time. There is little difference in resale any more than cost when new. I bought DCLB because it met my needs.

If you plan to use your truck as a truck then get a long bed. IF you don't plan on hauling anything other than groceries then a short bed will meet you needs as long as you can get past the long bed envy.

Around here SB is a rarity. I had to have it ordered with the manual trans. If I wasn't so bent on a manual trans, I would have gotten the LB, there is proving to be times that I could benefit from it.

The difference between DCSB and DCLB is 1 foot of bed space. If 1 foot of bed space will make or break your decision on buying a 30k truck, then in my opinion you should probably think about getting the full size Tundra.

I bought the long bed because I knew I would be adding a tool box with a fishing rod rack...had I not bought the long bed I wouldn't have even fit a coolers and boat tackle in the bed
