    Hi everyone,
I just received a call from the service rep at the local Toyota dealer that they had received a fix from Toyota regarding the spark knock that the 2013 4.0 tacoma has and to bring it in for repair. If you have this same problem you may want to check with your dealer to see if they have received the TBS.

What is a spark knock? Is it year specific?

in hot weather and 87 octane and mild accel around 1200-1700 you may get some mild ping covered by the wording in the manual 'some pings are normal' but lo and behold they have a new ecu codepage to reduce or eliminate this ping when temp is 80degF or above

my taco has it, I am and was not worried...but with this TSB having a .4 hour time, next oil change I am requesting it...as I get the ping when hot and I am on 87 octane. goes away with 93 octane.
