I have this idea that FullMoons on this simple base model White Tacoma would look nice. The steel wheels do not have the "usual" recess, the wheel center is almost flush with the wheel bead area. No place for the push on caps to grab. I am thinking about the screw attached disks. anyone have a comment?

I think on a base 5 lug with meatier tires it might look pretty cool. I always liked them on some of the early 50's customs. Newest car I ever saw them on was a mid 70's Torino, slightly lowered with wider tires. Kind of a cross between Nascar and the Bonneville Salt Flats.

I mean the clean brushed stainless steel full size disk. The problem is they would have to be the type that uses 3 screws that you put into drilled holes in the wheel rim bead area. There is no rim space for the normal hub cap "Grabbers" to fit. The "instructions" I have seen, give a process of drilling three 3/16" deep holes, and using self tapping screws. One site did refer to using 10-32 machine screws. I just wondered if anyone has done this yet?

What is a Hyper Miler? salt car?

The original purpose of the moon discs was to make cars that ran at the dry lakes and Bonneville more aerodynamic. Originally built by Moon Performance. Hyper milers are those that try to get the maximum gas mileage out of their cars. Aerodynamics plays a role in that as well.

Only people I have even seen run them in hyper milers and also some older greasers that want the look.

Saw you had a reg cab so it is a 4 banger and thought you were looking for the mileage improvement if any.

But the extra weight might negate the aero-gain...

Hah! The milage does suck! Hard to believe only a bit better than 20 mi/Gal with a 4 Cyl. It does move along OK though, so at least it's not a weak truck with poor milage also!

SO, I guess no one here has done this? Oh Boy, I get to be the 1st !!! ......maybe

Well they look really good if you paint them flat black on half and flat white on the other half. Then make your tires real shiny.
