Got tree sap all over my 13' Tacoma

A week in Pinecrest, CA left my Tacoma noticeably "scarred". I panicked and briefly thought about just lighting it on fire and buying a new one…but cooler heads prevailed and I used rubbing alcohol and the sap came off just fine. A wash and wax later and looks good as new. Just passing on the info for others who may face a similar horrifying experience.

Not really. I just clayed my whole truck and the sap spots didn't come off easily at all.

 

Rubbing Alcohol ---- note: Ive got to remember that.

 

Belt sander would do it also but WD-40 works too.

 

Goo Gone works great & Wax after

 

I used 3M adhesive remover and those disposable blue shop towels. I don't recommend it. The sap came off but it dulled the clear coat and I had to polish it with Scratch-X to get it looking good again.

 

I live in the corn belt, what are those mystical plants you call "trees" that sap all over your tacoma?

 

Keep it waxed and that will come of better.
I had an army of birds shit on mine one day, looked like someone took a paint brush and just splattered paint drops all over the front.

When I made it home the water hose got half of it off.
The rest of it just needed a light washing with a good mitt.
Of course I put on more wax.
