Ever since I've had my truck, there has been this feeling like something is bumping the back of my truck when I let off the brakes or hit the gas. I was told by a Toyota service advisor that it is Toyota's rear end engaging and disengaging, which I don't believe. To me, it feels like axle wrap. It doesn't always do it, but I can feel it pretty often. Anyone else experience this?

axle wrap, I believe there is a TSB out to help...you might want to check with your local Toyota dealer...

there are ways to minimize the problem if Toyota won't change out your leafs...see what your dealer says first...

Torque the rear U Bolts that hold the springs to the axle housing to 75 - 80 ft lbs.

I seriously doubt its axle wrap or u-bolts. Mine did the same thing. Turns out the transmission was 2 Qts. low. Added the fluid and problem was solved.

Guess I'll have to take it in to the dealer, since there is no trans fluid dipstick on mine. The dealer probably did that so you have to take it in. Thanks for your input.

There are no TSB's for my truck, I checked about a year ago. Just annoying having the thump.

    Howdy,
I had that problem on a Ford and a Chevy pick up. I pulled my drive shaft and greased the splines and the clunk went away. Quick and easy fix. Have a goodun!!!!!!!1
