I live in Cali, have an 08 Tacoma v6 with a ram air style intake with no CARB sticker. Therefore I failed smog. I looked online for a stock air box and found a 2003 4runner v6 intake for cheap (it looks identical) . Just wondering if it will allow me to pass smog or not (meaning are they the same engine and CARB numbers). The details of how I failed was the guy looked at my intake and said this is after market and is illegal in Cali so visually he failed me. He said I need the stock part or I will always fail. Its bc the stock intake has some charcoal filter inside it and blah blah. So this should be an easy answer for those who know this stuff, thanks for your help
