in the bed of their truck? The bed of my DCSB only sees my mountain bike occasionally.

On the contrary, I often carry stuff in the backseat when I go on trips or whatever. At times gets pretty full. I think this has camper shell written all over it. Or maybe I am just trying to justify it.

Yeah if you need to store everything in the cab not in bad, sounds like you need camper shell. Not everybody like them, but camper shell is very usefull.
Main reason I got mine was that I wanted to keep things dry on the back all year round. With 3 months of snow storms, one gets tired of shoveling snow from bed every time needs to go to home depot.

In 11 days of owning the truck I got 2 "hey, you have a truck now! help me move!" requests already. Screw that. I did not buy it so I can help cheap people move their shit for free.

I need to get a shell ASAP.

Yep, My BSA motorcycles. That's why the extra bed tie down points are so necessary!

Funny how everyone says this. I actually enjoy helping my friends move. They are very appreciative of my help, and I get a chance to feel good about providing some assistance to a friend in need. And I've always had gas/food paid for by them.

OP, I don't haul a ton of heavy crap, but I use the bed of my truck constantly. Coolers, chairs, tables, suitcases, etc. I thought about a cap, but I like the look of a tonneau better.

I haul stuff constantly and have a shell. When I haul very heavy loads or large/tall loads I will just take the shell off. The convenience and security the shell adds is priceless and my dog loves it too. Its also awesome to camp out of. I would not own another truck without one.

I haul coal, firewood, garbage/recylcables, mountain bikes, dog, dead animals, house stuff, camping/hunting gear, etc...

I don't haul much and also find myself storing things inside my cab to keep them dry and secure... been thinking of trading it in for a 4runner

I absolutely enjoy helping my friends. I don't like helping people who call me once a year when they need something and are nowhere to be found when you need their help.

If you disappear for months at a time, don't show up for my bday BBQ, then ask for my help with a promise to buy me a beer, but then disappear for months until you need my help again, without ever buying me that beer you promised, i will be "super busy" next time you call. If you are a once-a-year-help-me-with-something-i-need type of friend, go pay someone.

Being 18 I'd pretty much haul stuff for anyone who promised to buy me a beer... :D

4Runner's are pretty sweet, but a little too pricey for me. If I throw a shell on my truck I have my own version of a 4Runner for much cheaper.

Never again in my truck. I will help load their truck and move their stuff that way, but the days of using my truck to move other peoples stuff are gone.

    nothing cool
My town has free brush/tree limbs etc dumping as long as you bring it in yourself. Way easier than stuffing it in those brown paper bags for curbside pickup. Thats what i haul most of the time.

Full of camping gear late spring/early fall (too hot here in the summer). Duck decoys in Nov/Feb (pre/post season). Once in a while Lowes/Home Depot. Odds and ends once in a while for very good friends.

Mine carry two kayaks out to the beach on an almost weekly basis, depending on how busy I am with work.

Brown paper bags do not seem like the appropriate vessel for tree limbs. Could be wrong though.

Shell is part of my truck. I haul my stuff for camping and trips in the bed. I can sleep in the bed on trips and it's pretty secure. I have a regular cab so I can't keep much in the cab.

Same here. I use it for a truck. Although it can't haul all that much weight or anything longer than 6 inches.

I could only see needing a cap if you want to leave stuff in there or work out of your truck.
