Bored sitting around the house with stitches in my hand so I decided to do a White Taillight Mod to match my truck.
I'm going to seal them once more and give them a few days to set before installing. Also going to change the orange bulb to clear.

I think they turned out well :)

    What they will go on.

If the paint matches pretty well (which it looks close while holding them up next to the paint) I'll tackle the back bumper next.

Don't suppose you're able to take a picture holding the painted housing next to the tailgate? i think thatll look really good.

Just wondering how hassle you'll get from da popo and inspection places with the relectorized part painted. Looks cool tho.

Best I can get at the moment. Not really a accurate picture since it is cloudy. I think it is going to match pretty damn close. Not perfect but not enough to notice.

Cops? not sure. We don't have inspections in this state so I'm good with that part.

Yeah me too. On more sealing and I'll let it set for 48 hrs or so for curing then install them. Hope they look as good as I think they will. Kind of subtle (I hope).

BTW these are a extra set that I had. I had black Anzo's on the 2011 I traded in and still had the factory lights in the attic. If it doesn't work out I've lost nothing but about $15 in paint, primer, and epoxy.

I cleared the tails on a previous car and got ticketed. CA law says red reflector has to be visible, but it doesn't say how much has to be visible. But it's a state law and worth looking into, I ended up using the cleared housings for car shows and putting on a second set to drive home.

    Worth checkin' into RVM.

Probably a good idea. At least they are easy to change out and I've got a second set.

On my second set I used aluminum flashing tape to cover all but 1/4" strip of the red reflector and reinstalled. Technically it was legal. Still looked good and under the housing looked no different than chrome reflector bowl even though it was janky flashing tape.
