If there is a thread on that subject, I have been looking and not finding it.
I need to add the wire for the Cruise light at connector C9, pin 24.

What? You never figured it out?

Pull the door sill, foot rest, kick panel, and e-brake cover(manual)/tray(auto). Then pull the lower dash (2 bolts and 3 clips). Then lower the steering wheel and pull upper dash (2 screw clips and 5 clips). 4 screws hold in the cluster.

Take a look at this file. https://www.customtacos.com/tech.ol...f/06toyrm/06toypdf/06rmsrc/rm2006ta/06000.pdf

OP, before you start pulling the dash panels some of the later trucks have been turning up prewired from the engine ECU to the C9 pin on the cluster. Might want to first take a look at the connector on the ECU to see if yours is populated.

Green wire C9-21 to E7-18 mine worked after that. Literally nothing prewired on my truck. Had to run brown wire black wire and green wire to make work with handle.

I expect my 2009 is the same. Had to run the wire to the spiral from the ECU for the cruise lever to function. It did, so I was grateful the Brains were in the truck, just lacking the wire. So same for the cruise on/off light. ECU connector was not showing that wire. I did run the 2 wires from ECU at that time with hope to use the 2nd later. It provides a ground, and does, which I have used as a "test" with a small LED to a power source. I was thinking of simply mounting that LED.
On a positive note, I do have the proper wire contacts to use if I ever get to the C9!
Thanks for the Instruction, and that LINK! I emailed the link to myself for easy reference.

The light run was the easiest. 2 small phillips retainers above speedometer and the bezel pulls out. Combo plug on top left. Was super easy to run over to ecm. once I did that cruise worked. A electrical snake or similar can get you behind radio for run if you don't want to pull that out.

So are all those steps at post #4 not necessary? Just 2 screws !! Can't be that easy......

Not if all you need is green light wire. Speedo cover pops out with wheel lowered and 2 top fasteners removed. Insert wire in c9-21 on top left can reach it easily. Fish wire to behind glove box insert into e7-18 . Done with light wire run. if you already did brown wire to e7 and black to ground you have completed the loop and CC will work. Will not work without green light wire attached.

You might be able to pull the upper dash panel out far enough to get into the cluster, but I'd rather remove it properly than fuck up the dash.

The sill plate and foot rest has to come out to get the kick panel off. The kick panel and ebrake cover have to come off to take off the lower dash. The lower dash holds/locks into the upper dash panel that covers the cluster.

    Hello,

What is the wire contact type(s)? Wire gauge and the connector type? Any help would be appreciated.
