I am going to install a 2.5 inch lift on my truck this weekend. The question is can I use the stock wheels and tires after the lift? They are TRD Sport Wheels. I will be getting new wheels and tires in a few weeks. I would like to be able to run the stock wheels and tires in the winter as well.

I installed my OME kit last weekend and I'm getting my tires installed this coming weekend. As long as you go get it aligned after the lift is installed... stock rims and tires should do you fine until you get your bigger ones installed.

I cannot speak to the Winter portion of the question, as I live in FL and we do not get actual cold weather.

I run 275/70/17's on my stock Sport alloys , you'll be fine running the stockers but if they are the Dunlops they suck in snow

I agree that the stock tire suck! I am getting Toyo Open country MT 275/65/18. Might upgrade to better winter tires using the stock wheels. With the new rims they are 18X9, should they be -12 offset or 0 offset?. Keep in mind the lift is going to be 5100's in the front using stock coils.

i did "3in" actually more like 2.75in said and done coils and AAL, i am now 100% back to oem wheels and tires, bought some off of a spoiled kid who had his daddy buy a new tacoma and he lifted it like the next day and could give a flip about the oem's.

as it is, mine rides better on the road, bumps are smooth, off-road up and down travel is nice on drops and the bounce back minimal and smooth and i think looks better, no complaints!

just do not use spacers in the front, use good quality coils, HIGHLY suggest weight over-rated coils, and use quality AAL and NO BLOCKS in the back!

you be a happy taco-camper with that height and oem size tires :)

Mine sits 2.75" over stock, stock wheels and 285/70R16 and no rubbing at all!

The painted grill is clean also (compared to the chrome one...)

Lifting your truck will only allow you to put some 32'' or 33'' with minor trimming :) (Your lift kit should mention what's the maximum tire size), but there's no minimum tire size.

Make sure to buy hub-centric aftermarket wheels if you have a recent model...
