Not sure if that will work on my phone but its the first few minutes of the LA Riots. One good man with an AR may have been able to stop the whole thing. Even a handgun like the Glock 19 I carry would have been sketchy.

I feel bad for the folks living in anti-2nd Amendment states. Our neighbor to the south Massachusetts is just as bad as California luckily New Hampshire still honors our states slogan "Live Free or Die".

When you are shot at but can't drive away fast enough? :notsure:

On a serious note, shooting a rifle while in the truck is rare for a civilian (and you should use a bullpup for that purpose). The racks are for transporting the rifle. It's more secure and less harsh on the rifle than carrying it in the bed.

The beauty is your rifle in your rack can be for whatever purpose you want it to be. Mine is for shooting mother fuckers who deserve to be shot.

BTW, I've got bullpups & SBR's too but prefer this particular AR in this truck for various reasons that are my own. I also carry a handgun (or two) so if rapid deployment & mobility are required I'm G2G there too. If time permits & a long gun fits the bill...

This is the reason I had in mind already, but I was asking more from those who don't use it daily and just have it for just in case. This situation is perfect for having a rifle in the cab.

Ah, I see that now. And read that story, that sucks for everybody involved.
Just looked up what bullpup was. Interesting!

Good enough reason for me. Just wanted to know if anybody had a point of view I had not yet considered. Sounds like you know your guns, by the way.

I have the cheapo "gun racks" in the back window of my access cab and hang a bow scabbard (made for use on horses) from it. No pics, but mine's made by Outfitter Supply. It works great and the dog can still ride back there. The bow has "needed" to be rapidly deployed a few times... Like this time

I won't trust the racks with a firearm, and most of mine won't fit in them anyway. They work great for hanging hats, ear muffs and half taken down fishing rods.

Never use gun rack to carry my rifle but carry fly pole and hat. Its an old classic rack that have ends that slide behind the frame of your plastic modeling. Behind seats.
Its a damn shame of calf. Going be so anti gun stance. They dont understand 2nd admen rights. NY is half what calf is now. Glad i got the permits to carry and no restictions to boot. I keep mine very close by for many reasons

Bungee strap for short trips. I don't store that gun in there always.

Why does anyone have to give someone else a reason to carry a rifle? The only people it should matter to is the person carrying it and law enforcement. To keep asking seems to me rude and an attempt to keep someone from carrying one. Sorry but to me it is really no one is else's business.

Anyone have a reg cab with a gun rack setup? I was thinking about a couple hooks mounted lower under the back window but a soft rifle case fits perfect behind the front seats.

Some good ideas here. I use the big sky rack on my side by side.
