Hope evey one recovers, sorry about your truck.
People just don,t watch where they are going.

I amost had a landscape truck with trailer rear end me yesterday.
It looked like the driver was trying to scare a sleeping passenger.
He slammed on the brakes coming up fast behind me, lots of tire smoke.
I could see him laughing and looking at the passenger.

I let him know I was not very happy with his stupid stunt, he was very close to my rear bumper.

Not much to do until you can get a estimate on the damages. I doubt the truck will be totaled if the air bags didn't deploy, and the crunched metal in the bed did it's job to asborb energy. As for frame repair, a minor repair is about normal and doesn't weaken the frame in the future. The frames are cold worked during manufacturing and never annealed anyhow.

    Best of luck.

What the hell? Are they installing the new "high powered magnet mod" into the 2014s at the dealer now?

Only benefit of using your insurances preferred shop is that they'll make sure the shop takes care of anything you're not happy with.

Picking a high end body shop doesn't guarantee that they'll do the best job. They might do great work on Porsches but do what ever work on "low end", because the money isn't the same.

If your truck ends up being repairable you want to have The Bureau of Automotive Repair inspect the body shops work. They exist to protect consumers not the businesses.

To the OP and other's who have had their truck rear ended. This is what save my truck from more damages including any frame damages. It pretty much paid for itself and I got a free replacement from the company too! As you can see he's damages were alot more :D

So the Guy with the Car Put this L Front corner under you right rear? Woo Hoo. Did it lift the truck off the ground??? (As it's not your fault I assume you had the Frame checked??)

I Might just buy one of there... but with my luck they'd probably use it to sit on when they steel the tailgate ....

No it didn't lift my truck. It slightly pushed it forward. It wasn't my fault and the frame was checked to make sure it was truly squared. Here's the link: http://sparebumper.com/index.php

BTW pop and lock is your friend for the tailgate.
