Of dummies who drained tranny fluid instead of oil. Got all the tranny fluid back in though through the plug (4x4, 4.0L V6). Should I still take it in?

If you had a clean container? No problem.

I wouldn't. I also would not have posted it on a forum either, but that is just me.[IMG]

Don't feel too bad. I drained the tranny oil out of my 2006 subaru back when I frist started driving I thought it was the oil. The "oil" looked like it was still good so i put it back into the oil. Drove it about 2 miles without fluid in the tranny and tranny fluid in the oil haha..It was smoking like crazy and grinding badly..finally I realized wht happened and had my dad bring some oil and changed it on the side of the road lol ended up blowing the engine a year later and then sold it

Was it a WRX? or just a regular old Ej powered Subaru? The turbo's Subbies need oil to cool the turbo's, but that circa Subaru, had paper for head gaskets. So it wouldn't have surprised me.

LOL. Nothing wrong with talking about it. That's how we all learn about this stuff. I have had my share of oopsies over the years, and don't mind sharing it so others can learn from it.

How were you able to get the fluid back through the plug, without it draining back out?

I'm assuming he used the fill plug this to put the fluid in...

Negative. You create a thread asking for halp and pour the fluid back in the radiator...
