Anyone else with duratrac tires have vibration. When I get up to 60+ miles per hour I get bad vibration in my steering wheel. Doesn't do it at slow speeds. The tire company I had put them on did balance and align them.

    Just curious

Hm, I installed them 2 weeks ago and haven't been on the highway yet. I will be taking a little trip Friday evening and can report back with my findings.

Right now it sounds like they weren't balanced well.

Has anything else changed since the time you weren't getting vibes at 60mph?

A couple causes I've seen over the years:

    • Wheel Bore being larger than the hub bore without self-centering lug nuts.
    • Poorly balanced Tires.
    • Tire Tread uneven due to extended periods of driving a misaligned vehicle.
    • Loose suspension bolts (scary!)

I've had mine for almost 2 weeks. Got close to 500 hundred miles on them so far. I have a slight vibe/steering wheeling shake around 55-60 but otherwise there is no shake before then and they ride great up to 75mph. It's just that little window where I feel some vibe. I haven't decided if I'm going to go back for a rebalance or not. Otherwise I love these tires. Great look and ride on street. Have not had them in rain, mud or snow yet.

Mine were installed yesterday. Only have like 10 miles on them. The Goodyear dealership balanced them but said it was because it is an aggressive tire. I'm not really believing it.

Mine vibrate pretty bad between 65-70. Had them balanced three times, road force once. Still the same. I do have the 235/85 load range e, a buddy has the 265/75 load c and his are fine.

Probably too much road force or they are out of round.

Most Goodyear tires seem to suffer from this.

If road force is above 20lbs then you will definitely feel vibrations.

^^^ This. One out of the four of mine was slightly egg shaped. Road force balanced the bad one and was all good. I would kept taking it back until they get it right or demand a new set.

No vibrations whatsoever! Make sure they were 'computer-matched / road force balanced'. I costs a little extra but makes a big difference!...

Just got done dealing with this myself Op. I just had new BFG AT's installed, had a blowout on freeway with stock, rubber, so said eff-it at the tire store and bought four new BFG AT's. I had a 20 minute highway ride when I left, and it felt like the truck was rattling apart on the way home, because the shakes and vibes were so bad between 60-70 mph.

Got home, pulled front wheels off, moved them to the rear. Re seated the wheels and semi tightened nuts down with truck in air. Problem solved, smooth as glass. My tires are 265/75/16, no lift, or level. Had to slightly trim flare and mudflaps near rear of wheelhouse opening.

Love the look and ride, all though the new rolling resistance seems to tax my base OE shocks.

I also have hub-centric rings in my wheels, because my aftermarket wheels are not Toyota hub-centric.

YES!! I've had these issues for a while now. About 25-30k miles on the tires. I've had the vibes for about the last 7-8k miles. Ive had the tires balanced twice with no complete fix.

Before the first attempt, my vibes were so bad that it was dangerous to drive on the highway. Got them balanced, but there was still a lot of vibration. Got them balanced a second time at a better tire shop. Vibration was a little better, but it still vibrates. I'm really not happy with these tires.

Both times they were road force balanced.

This is a bullshit copout answer. Whether a tire is aggressive or not DOES make it harder to balance/take more weight, but it absolutely does not mean that they will still shake when balanced.

I have a bad one, or it s a bad aftermarket rim which I am replacing with stock rims. I spent a lot of time at the dealer thinking it was a driveline vibration issue, and the dealer tech said it was a tire, rim or lug nuts. Mine was coming from the rear at 45-50 mph and again at 70+. I just rotated them last week and now I have no drive line vibration but now I have a steering wheel shake. Once I get my new factory rims powder coated I am going to have the shop that sold me the tires check them all to make sure I don't have a bad one.

I had vibes after tread was around 75%. Re-balancing didn't help. Just had to deal with the steering wheel shaking until I got new tires. My buddy had the same problem. Both were "C" range duratracs.
