After 6K miles on my 2014 DCLB 4X4, I found out 4D is not D. :anonymous:

That is all. Too many other vehicles in my life with D, 3, 2, 1.

Doh! Well at least you'll buy less gas from here on out. :D

Even though it is at a low right now for Alabama.

My friend once thought his 4runners 4d was 4x4...sucked when I told him your 4runner is 2wd AFTER he got stuck.

For the longest time I was unsure how "Auto LSD" actually worked. You push the button to turn it on. Just assumed it was always on, and gave extra traction automatically.

Figured pushing the putting turned it off, so you could break the tires lose or do doughnuts if you so choosed. I had it all wrong.

I can see how one could think 4 was also D. No big deal. I can bet your fuel mileage will increase and your engine is getting broken quite nicely now?
I think it is in the location it is in for the ability to shift for D-4 easily while on up hill grades and for towing.

I actually switch between the 2 fairly often on certain. I keeps the trans from shifting so much on back roods here in the foothills of Tennessee.

Did the same thing on my first test drive, until the salesman pointed it out. Now I use 3-4 in the city, 4-D on the highway.

You probably liked the improved throttle response from keeping the revs up. :)

Only thing good about the 6-speed are the two extra cupholders. :p

And now imagine that topped off with unknowingly using power etc the whole time. Now that's throttle response
