Hard to tell with the sideways pic, but is it puke or poop ?

    I'm guessing "door # 2"... Punn intended.

Sorry to hear about the pooch also.

    :(

No big deal but that surely sucks. I'm more concerned about your dog if he is in that stage. I know it's a hard thing to see, and I'll keep that pooch and you and yours in my thoughts.

Yeah, it's number 2. If I didn't have to buy my wife another car after she got t-boned a couple weeks ago, this would be a great excuse for katzkin leather replacements.
Anyone know if these covers are machine washable?

I'd just remove them and use a small pressure washer and baking soda, let dry in direct sunlight. Should.remove stain and odor. You could use a garden hose with one of those trigger jobs just the same.

The dog is fine, he just doesn't have great control of his guts anymore. I hadn't had him out for a walk yet today before loading him in the truck so I'm partially to blame for this one. Other than a little arthritis, he's the same goofy orange mutt that he's alway been.

Sorry your dog is feeling bad, this is one of the reasons I got the leather, I have already tested it with baby vomit, wipes right off.

You should be able to get this and the smell out no prob. My now 5 year old, threw up all over the back seat of my then 2013 WRX, which was about two months old, and had about 800 miles on it. Had it professionally cleaned, but the throw-up smell never went away.

My point is, it could have been much worse had it been door #1 IMO.

    I added a bolt once...

I would avoid direct sunlight and pressure washer...both, too harsh.

Remove, clean with mild soap and water, rinse very well. At this point I might try to wash in the washing machine if they fit. Perhaps a car shampoo per directions.

Line dry out of direct sunlight...you want them to fit back on.

I think these can be salvaged. No shit!

For you guys that have had "incidents" like poop or vomit, let me make a suggestion. First, clean the area well (by yourself or a professional). Then, if the smell is still in the car, go buy yourself an ozone generator and run it in the car with the heater/AC unit on.

When my dog was a puppy, he vomited in my wife's RAV4 on her way to work; she wasn't able to get it cleaned till she got home. Needless to say, no matter what we did to clean it, including getting the interior professionally detailed, the smell was still there. I bought an ozone generator and used it in the RAV4. After the first hour, the scent was almost gone. I ran the unit for another hour and the smell was undetectable. The ozone generator I bought is called the ScentPurge 50; costed about $60. Here's a link to it and some other units.
