So ive been cruising through some old threads about replacement headlights.
My current lights are toast, starting to fog and get moisture inside. I know i want the style in the link below. (which i found in one of said researched threads) 10 yr warranty on these btw. Seems like a no brainer.

    http://www.am-autoparts.com/Toyota/Tacoma/headlight-assemblies/AM-41557614/512721.html

I know retros are the way to go, but im not spending that kind of cash.

All of these aftermarket lights look the same. Only difference to me looks like the price.

Im looking for some longevity reports here.
Who has bought what and how long have they held up?

    Enlighten me

My truck would have been good for the TSB headlight IF the collision repair place had to used OEM headlights but since they were not I bought Depos off Amazon for 140 shipped

That's the insurance :) , I just put a a nice bead of silicone clear, nice and smooth then used spit on my fingers and pressure to assure penetration in the seam.

One problem with aftermarket headlights is the beam pattern they throw. I haven't seen many aftermarket lights that compare to the OEM lights.

People keep saying this and I just....ho hum..& ...meh

I certainly do not care if they shine a little less. Most people are running shit Sylvania bulbs with crappy "white" light that has tinted bulbs. Throw in some Narva Rangepower 50's and I guarantee my $43 lights will outshine a OE light with stock bulbs any day of the week.

Ive never driven my truck faster than my headlights can shine on road or offroad and Ive never said....I could of gone faster if only my headlights were brighter.

I had a set of Anzos and the light pattern was way less than stock. Looked like 2 triangles on the ground and would not aim correctly at all. I got them where I could stand it but they were nowhere near stock at all. It wouldn't have mattered if I stuck zXe bulbs it them they would just be brighter triangles. I've never (personally) seen a set of aftermarket headlights that match OEM. I'll personally never buy another set. The only way I would buy a set is if I knew going in that I was going to Retro them so the beam pattern wouldn't matter anyway.

Maybe I got unlucky I dunno.

My experience has been good, I've bought two sets of Crystal Headlights which I think are made by ANZO both were very high quality, my gen 2 looked better than OEM :) . As all knock-offs go, I agree the quality is usually poor.

Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
I'm about to change out the original headlights on my 2008 Tacoma PreRunner. They look like crap, dull and all and cracking too. Tired of applying cream to try and bring back that clear lens look, etc. just said 'fuck it' and just went ahead and purchased a new pair.
Ordered a new pair on Tuesday afternoon, FedEx shipped, received them on Wednesday afternoon, next day! I know that the process will be a challenge so I'll wait for the Labor Day Holiday next weekend and install them sometime on Friday morning. :D

As I mentioned in my original post, I am scheduled to install them sometime this coming Labor Day weekend. I'll post pictures of before and after.
As for what brand, cost, etc. well I found them at a very generous price, only $99.95 for a pair, with free next day shipping, here from this place....

    http://www.rpru.com/toyota-tacoma-headlights-with-chrome-bezel-left-and-right-pair/c33p18628

Now please let me explain about the "next day shipping" part. Yes, shipping was free, shipped by FedEx. As for the next day receiving shipment the sales guy told me that if I purchased them sometime in the morning then would receive at the end of the following day or if not the next day after. Sure enough, I placed my order on Tuesday morning-received them the next day Wednesday afternoon, well packaged and no problems! Not bad, not bad at all, for the price and shipping!

But again, that's just the first part, the next part is when they are installed and how it all works out.

    Till then.....

EDIT: also had previously posted this thread....http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/289400-2008-headlight-replacement.html

Wait, there just might be a slight delay on the installation of the headlights. Have just discovered and have been reading several post about the Lifetime LED headlight conversion.
Now seriously considering the possibility of installing this LED kit. But still not quite sure? Also the price?!

Anyone have any Pro's and Con's on them?

Maybe some other brand LED conversion kit?
