Just got my new shell installed today. There's some leakage around the sides facing the cab. I assume I can seal that with some flex-seal or spray foam insulation?

Here's some pics (they don't do it justice)

That's a difficult place to seal because the front of the bed steps down compared to the sides , the installer should have used a double thickness of tape or a thicker tape in that section

I've got to take it back to them next Tuesday because the wiring isn't finished. I'll mention it to them . Also, the sides of the tailgate let in some water but should be easy to fix with the tailgate seal stuff I've seen online.

I used one thickness of cap tape that bridges across the top of the front bed rail and onto the front of the bed itself , then another layer that was about 1/2 on the first layer and towards the cab , this has the leading edge sloping down slightly outside of the bed , been working great all through last fall / winter / spring

Looks like it could move forward a bit , is there a gap between the cap door and the tailgate ?

That looks about the same as my LEER installation. As mentioned, there is a step where the bedside and the bedfront meet, that's where they usually leak. At least unless you're like my 2006 was, it leaked where the seem was on the bed and I clear siliconed it.

I think it's an optical illusion .... The glass of the door is flush with the frame of the shell

MAKE SURE that you put some tape or some other protection across your tailgate where the rubber gasket hits, and do it ASAP. I pulled my top tailgate cap off and put 2" black electrical tape across, then remounted the tailgate cap. If you don't it WILL rub through the paint in short order.

What I did was put masking tape on they tailgate to mark where the door covers, then I did the electrical tape. You won't see the tape with the cap door shut. My truck is white and the tape is black, you won't notice it.
