    nothing cool
My buddy is a salesman here at Olathe Toyota in Kansas. I guess i was fooling myself hoping these were gonna be around 37k. And maybe get one for 35k. Then trade my truck and pay around 7k difference. That was me just hoping and my wife was ok with it. But NOT $40,000 starting price! Daaaang thats unreal. Guess i havent really kept up on pricing since i bought mine.

Agreed some people don't have the time nor the knowledge to mod their trucks. Some folks just want the whole package in one shot. If they can afford it then props to them. I ain no fool, I bought the TX PRO back in 2011 for $31,000 with leather seats. Best LIFE DECISION YET SON!

Some people will pay the 41k because they feel its a value has opposed to getting it modified after the fact. Some will pay 41k just because its 41k and would probably pay 51k if it was 51k. That's not a negative comment toward anyone its just how it is sometimes.

Not to sound mean, but F**k a TRD Pro. I'm completely content with my 2010 Sport that didn't cost $40k new. Its a Tacoma not an F250, 4x4, turbo diesel blah blah blah (not that i want a f250)

Actually, there's a good point in there -- 5 years from now that factory-made $40,000 TRD truck is going to be worth, say, $30,000. But a TRD Offroad that someone buys for $30,000 and dumps $10K in mods into is going to be worth LESS than an unmodified truck -- Maybe $20,000? -- because, let's be honest, mods don't add any real value and most buyers see mods and think "abused truck". And that goes double if you ever intend to trade it in at a dealer.

Which is why you sell the mods then put the truck to stock and get at least half the money back from your mods plus the truck's worth. Seriously, you could buy a sport/OR ($29-$32k) and put a $2k suspension on it and it will walk circles around a pro and still come out with at least $6k saved.

I don't care who you are or what you can or can't do as far as mods go, but $90 for an air filter is f@&king insane.

It should.... do you have the 7 pin connector by the hitch? do you have the aux trans cooler (small radiator looking thing in front of the radiator / ac condenser on the driver side) if so you have the towing package.

Sure, to each their own. Some people don't have the skills, tools or garage space to rebuild a suspension twice. Some people won't want to deal with the shimmies, clunks, uneven tire wear, etc that come with a DIY suspension that's not done quite right. They don't have the space or desire to store a bunch of suspension parts for 5 years. They might not want to deal with selling the parts. Some don't want to give up their warranty... I'm not saying that the TRD Pro isn't crazy money for what you get, I'm just saying there's a market for it.

Same basic shit everybody else had 5 years ago.
I thought I read somewhere that the TRD Pro Tacoma had 265/75/16 vice the 265/70/16 it looks like is listed under the TRD Pro package section on the sticker?

I think on the Chicago demo vehicles they equipped the larger 265/75/16 Falken tires. However, production just gets the standard 265/70/16 BFG AT KO's.

Since it's the wrong starting msrp, how much should you read into it? Someone will clarify the tow, and other details soon.

It just dawned on be that the dc/auto might make it right... Anyway who knows
