    Those are nice. Are they solid enough to occasionally serve as armour or would they crumple?

    Not enough...
    I like those a lot. I was planning on installing them before I even got the tuck, but the truck came with OEM oval nerf bars that I was going to ditch. Now my dog is using them all the time to get out of the truck, so it looks like I'll have to keep them for now :(

    They bolt to the body not the frame so I don't see good things happening if you were to hit them against a rock or something with any kind of force.

    I would think they would crumple, strong for getting small people in, and for parking lot damage, and probably good if you welded them on
