2014 bed removal

Want to weld up some roofracks and secure rigidly to frame. Have in the past secured to sheetmetal beds with good luck, but don't want to do that on plastic bed. Need to remove bed and investigate attachment points, ideally vertical walls inline with inside surface width of bed. Any info on bed removal sequence? Also, any exploded diagrams of frame under bed?

 

What about securing your system at the bed bolt locations which is where the composite bed bolts to the frame

You could just attach them to your rails. The rails are actually quite strong.

 

Only if you spread the weight out along the bedside like a cap does , if you're putting any kind of load on the rack I wouldn't trust the rails
