The same shit everyone else has.
Long story short, I picked up these wheels off of Craigslist for cheap -

    36B8EB1C-072C-4E4D-B340-AEE04BA93D84_zps_f8c9969fbc3d0c6c6d9c98c54a340f87ee53054b.jpg

I test fitted when when I bought them -

    A2863876-C386-4B1E-ABFE-35A05C3CDB5E_zps_01d6a596e06df45f2945a4a43834109cf6aa71d3.jpg

They fit pretty decent. I just hate the pointless button head socket cap bolts on them with the insets between them

I kicked around the idea of running faux beadlock rings as "rock rings" similar to the TRD Pro TX wheels or Mickey Thompson Classic Lock wheels to cover the stupid insets and make the socket caps serve a purpose. I would either use the TRD ones or have have a set laser cut.

    Like so -

I also kicked around the idea of having all the insets welded and turned down smooth.

Or maybe just refinish them and flipping them on Craigslist.

I also kicked around the idea of painting them all black and just replacing the hardware to look like this -

Im just not sure how I feel about black wheels on a silver truck -

Black wheels usually scream "bro" to me.

Not really sure what to do...

Ive been trying to motivate my self for the past 6 months to do something with these wheels. I need a swift kick in the ass to get moving on this project and Im hoping someone on here can supply the said ass kicking.

    Any thoughts?

Don't weld them, the heat will warp the rim.

I know what you mean about silver/chrome rims on a silver tacoma, if it was me I would look into powder coating them black. To me black rims on a silver taco look great, but that's just my 2 cents.

I have black on silver. Love mine. They are a flat black though. I hate shiny/glossy looking black. I say either sell them and get what you really want or if your short on $$, paint/powder coat them and roll with em for a while.

x2 ^^^ powder coat and keep em for a bit. Then make your decision. You can always refinish/sell them. Might as well see if you like them first.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'd like to see your wheel centers painted fire engine red leaving the silver lip, lug nuts and center cap.

    post up some pics

I bought them because of the price and I thought the weird little insets and faux bolts wouldnt bother me as much as they do. Its weird.

Money really isnt an issue either. Its finding a truck wheel that I like that isnt super tacky (99% of them are). I thought these were the ones when I bought them.

Maybe Ill paint one black and see what happens.

I think black looks good with silver too. Mine are very mello (no bling) and also flat black. I think the "bro" looks come in with the black/chrome/beadlock/spikes/skulls/fat chick silhouettes...

Maybe plasti dip two and throw them on to see what it looks like. If you don't like it peal it off. If you do like it peal it off and paint/powdercoat.

I've done a mod or two
I don't think black wheels scream bro, I think glossy black wheels scream bro. However I wouldn't go with those Micky Thompsons just because the freakin' fake bolts are set in an annoying pattern with the logo.

Gloss definitely doesnt work, in my opinion.

Lets see some silver trucks with matte/flat black wheels now

I'm 45 years old and fully plan on black rims on my silver. I got no fear of being a "bro."
