I got a bit upset today and slammed my rear door and now it will not open. Their is no more tension in the release handle on A/C door. Anyone ever deal with this? Did a cable come off?

    Thanks

I don't think the cable can come loose, but you may have broken the plastic piece retaining the cable. It's a pita, but you can get it open two ways. One is to remove the plastic with the door in place, or jimmy the hasps open. Both are not fun.

First before you start ripping things apart. Check the small plastic wedge shaped piece between the doors ( front and rear ) that disengages the door handle on the Rear Door when the front door is closed. If it is stuck in you will see the same symptoms.

The black plastic thing seems to be stuck inside the door. I can see it. I imagine if I remove the two torx screws I might be able to fix it?

    That is the problem.
If it is stuck in it disengages the door handle and will not release.

I am glad you understood my shitty description! [IMG]
Unless something broke, if you free it up the handle should operate normally once it is free.

If this happens to any other A/C owners just loosen the (2) screws and it will pop back out on its own. I guess I got lucky that I did not break it off inside the door.
