Hey guys, newbie here, first time Toyota owner and have a question.

I declined the factory alarm while signing all the papers and didn't really pay attention to what they were telling me at the time. When I was done, the paperwork guy handed me a small plastic device and told me to hand it to my salesman. The salesman then went to my car and placed this device under my dash. I was briefly told that he was removing the alarm and deactivating it with the device.

My question is, what type of alarm system does it have currently? The dealer said it has a "basic alarm" however when I lock the doors and open them through an open window, I'm not hearing any audible sound? I'm wondering if he was just referring to the engine cut off?

I'm enjoying reading all these threads and look forward to being an active poster.

    Not enough...
It's a Karr alarm that dealers install, not factory. And the little plastic piece is a simple jumper/fuse type of thing to activate the alarm.

Mine does flip out when i stick my hand into the window though

20 minutes of searching and I found a thread to revive so as to not get scolded for not searching.;)

So I picked up a 2015 last week and declined the KARR and every other useless thing they try and sell.
Finance guy went out with us and just put in the bypass clip.
My question is what is behind, wiring wise, so I can remove that pimple and all behind it from my nice new truck?
Without screwing up and deactivating my truck?
