I'm wondering if anyone else with a taco has this quirk. Out of the three climate control dials (fan speed, temperature, and output location), the fan speed control dial has a slight spring give to it if you push on it. I discovered it on my '06. I traded it in this year for my '14 and it exhibited the same quirk - the fan speed dial had the same slight springy feel with pushed! Odd coincidence considering the number of years between the models...

Are you actually pushing the dial or do you mean turning?
It is a bit hard to keep it between speeds, I'm sure it's designed that way to not confuse the motor.
The spacing between speeds are pretty huge too. Nice design, simple but nice.

Can't say I've ever noticed it. But I've never pushed in on the switch either.
I'll try it next time I get in the truck and let you know.

Ohh well, I guess I never pushed the dial in. Will have to check that out.

Just pushing it. In my '06, I remember I discovered it when I was changing the speed and hit a bump and felt it push in slightly (not trying to split speeds). It's not a problem at all, just an endearing quirk :) It's just a very slight give.

Tried it on my 2014 DCSB. It happens.

That is because the type of switch used. It has an internal spring ( inside the switch ) that maintains contact pressure. Common for this type of switch ( Multiple contact rotary switch ).

I would think the same type of switch would be used for, at least, the output control switch...

    Anyway, thanks!

The switch is able to push in, and that bugs you?
Just what till you find the real "quirks"

Nope, doesn't bug me in the least - in fact, it's rather endearing. Just thought it was funny that the same switch had the same characteristic as my old '06.

The Temperature switch is a variable resistor and not a switch at all.

My 14 does it. Maybe 1/16 an inch.

Keep it up while the fan is running and you'll be buying a new control.
