So on the weekend I installed a lift and LR UCA's.

To get the UCA bolt out was messy.. I watched some videos on YouTube and they said to cut the head of the bolt off if its in front to back and reinstall a new bolt from back to front.

Well I didn't have a new bolt and it was Saturday night and I had to take my truck to work in the morning.. Shitty deal..

What I did was bend part of the wheelwell out of the way with some channel locks.. (probably the most hacky thing I've ever done to that poor truck :( )

Then when I went to put the bolt back in I tried from the back towards the front, well since the bolt is almost 4 feet long it didn't fit there either, I put it in the same way it came out and had to use a hammer and a punch to get it back in.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I did a lot of reading before I installed this kit, and didn't come across this once..

I could post pictures later if anyone is interested.

I did it the same way. Bent the inner fender and went in the same direction it came out. Too much shit in the way trying to do it reverse and didn't feel like moving/bending anything else.

Yeah, I'm just surprised I NEVER read anything! Bending that little flat piece of metal is minor. Just making sure there wasn't another way to do it and I didn't pick up on it

My mechanic installed mine. He too mentioned how terrible that bolt was.

Pry bar, I've had mine out a few times and it's ezpz. Will be pulling them again this weekend.

And please don't install them in reverse, it's a safety feature in case the nut backs/falls off.

Yep. Did the bend thing on the 05 and will do it the same way when doing the 08. Gots a fresh box sittin there waitin on me. Also got a set of the new bolts if anyone needs them since I bought them for the 05 and never used them.

I've installed several pairs the same way you did. I don't like to install the bolt with the head facing downward really, I am kind of weird about that stuff, if somehow some way the nut falls off the bolt stays on.

It would be harder for it to work the whole bolt out if gravity isn't aiding it that's true. It wouldn't fit back in from the downside for me anyway!
