I am thinking of getting the Camburg Performance 2.5 kit for my 2.7 but I am unsure if the engine will turn the wheels. Will it work? or do I need a re gear? or even a supercharger?

I have 265/75/16. I want to regear, but I get around alright. I'd definitely regear for 285/75/16.

Yea same here it is a little different from stock but not worth crying about. Taking off isn't really the issue it's the most noticable goig up long steep hills

So, put on the lift and the wheels.

If you're happy with it, fine. Roll on.

If you want more zip, regear to 4.88 after you save up a few shekels.

    Avoid paralysis by analysis.

I have 265/75/16 BFG AT's and the off the line isn't the issue, it's maintaining speed on the inclines. I don't think anything bigger than 265/75/ 16 should be on a 2.7 anyway. There are a few hills I literally need to get a run at to make it up and over at a decent clip. *But my truck is also the heavier Double Cab, so it may feel different on an Access Cab?

Op expect to get worse mileage than the 4.0L with that size tire, re-gearing won't help with fuel economy either.

Re-gearing will help with the over feel, (will be negligible) like you said will feel closer to stock, which in my case was already pretty slow. But don't expect better mpg's. As now you will move your engine RPM up at cruising speeds, and when chugging around town.

When I had my '13 EcoBoost F-150, I had the 3.73 gear ratio, while a neighbor had 3.55's. My truck got about 13 in town and 17 hwy.

He claimed to get 15 in town and 20 hwy. Same principal hear, yes you are right, larger gears numerically will give more leverage, put you will pay more often at the pump because of that.

As far as the Unimog with 80hp, I'm sure the torque was to the moon though, which is something that nither a 2.7 Tacoma or Samuri ever had to start with.
