So I have had my truck for about 2 years in the Socal area. I love the truck but man didn't think I would be replacing the wipers after two years because the rubber was separating. Anyone experience this? Is it a combination of the sun expsoure and being near the ocean? Do you guys do anything to make them last longer?

I bought some of the single rubber type this time, just in time for the flash floods we have been having. Just wanting these to last a little while longer than the OEM.

Usually I start getting Streaks form the rubber at about 2 years. Using some fine sandpaper on the blade may keep it serviceable for a few more months - but regardless, Since it's a safety issue, as well as making it unconfortable to drive in the rain, I change mine when they start to streak. Cheap enough for a clean windshield and good visibility.

hmm mine have always lasted at least 5 years. Ive had to use these only maybe 5 times, it never got to the point of streaking the rubber just separated from the blade.

Damn in Iowa I would be lucky to keep a set for a year... but I guess if you never use them...

Just replaced mine last weekend. $25 bucks isn't bad every year or two. I just grab whatever's cheap at Autozone. They're just wipers...

Mine barely last a year here. Seems like when I replace mine they dry rot before I get to use them. Only rains a few days a year here.

I have bosch icons. they are a bit more money than others but 2.5 years of use, including winters and using them in negative temps and i still have not streaking.

I think I end up replace mine yearly on my DD (drive roughly 20-24k miles/year).

I use Rain-X Latitude's on everything and clean the screen with Rain-X windshield washer fluid.

Guess I'm cheap, but I hate replacing the entire blade assembly when all I need is the blade refill. Have had good luck with Trico replacement insert/blade from Advance Auto for about $4 a piece. Everybody else except NAPA only stocks the full assembly. Have had good luck with them, about a year or so depending on how much winter we have.

In Arizona I replace mine every 6 months. UV bakes the rubber and easier to spend 20.00 then have metal scrape across the windshield . The OEM ones aren't anything special.

I replace mine every year, love to see where I'm going in a Florida rain storm. The last few sets have been an issue, just like the new Rain X latitudes, if not a heavy rain they chatter and are really annoying. Any ideas?

I did not like the rain x latitudes either. i have the bocsh icon and love them. 2 years no problems, I also use rain x washer fluid and have no chattering and no streaking.
