I need to replace my factory tires. Got 35,000 miles out of them and they were ok, but they have always seemed a little noisy.

Does anyone have Michelin Defenders on their truck?

My truck is a 4 cyl, Access cab. Current tires are Firestone Destination LE, P215/70R15

I only drive on paved roads around town. I live in SC, so I don't drive if there is snow or ice. It would be nice to get something that helps with the noise on the highway.

    Thanks for any comments.

OP, I've got them on my truck. Same size tires as yours. Had them on there for about 10K miles. So far so good. They still look new. They're very quiet and they ride good.

These ARE the best tires known to man, for a truck that sees little to no off-road use, some snow & ice and wet weather. Had these on a few trucks and they are AWESOME.

Would have put them on my '14, but wanted something a little more aggressive for looks.

Just installed these on my 09 DCLB and they are great, wished I would have done it a long time ago.

I have the LTX MS2 and love them. They are quieter than the Rugged Fails the truck came with, and the truck seems to handle a little better on the road. I am on road at least 99% of the time, so off road tires make no sense for me.

you will see all truck specific options as well as ratings.
Please note that while the LTX MS2 are amazing and well rated tires, they are designed for some off road use. If you are not off road, you should be able to get the same or better on road performance and mileage from a cheaper tire that is on road specific. See the ratings on tirerack.

Anyone have feedback on the M/S2 vs the A/T2 in terms of noise, ride, handling. I'm mostly asphalt but get off road once in a while. Suspect the M/S would be ok for my needs but looking at options.

    I <3 Michelin.

I put Firestone Destination A/T's on my taco and love them. Great balance of handling, quiet, looks, etc.

I got the Michelin Defenders from Sam's Club. So far they are really nice. They seem much quieter than the original factory tires. $500 out the door didn't seem too bad.

There was a problem with the stupid TPM light on the dash after the install. They said to drive them home and if the light did not go out to come back and they would fix it. I got home and the dash light was still on. So I used Mr. Google to help me and I found something that worked.
    - Turn the ignition key to on.
    - Went to every tire and dropped the pressure to 20.
    - Went back around with my air hose and pumped them back up to specs.
    - Dash light went out. :)

I wish somebody could explain what the worthless TPM button under my dash does, because it was no help.

I have gotten a little over 70k mi with my M/S2's and have 5/32" of tread left. They felt great when I put them on, way better handling and smoother ride... Costco!

I agree. I just put MS2's on my truck after knocking fillings out of my teeth for 6 years with the BFG Ta/Ko's. I never knew my Taco could ride this smooth! Not to mention I picked up at least two MPG, close to three. I'm a happy camper.

I have P245-75-16 LTX MS2's on a V6 access cab - excellent tire, but I consider it a "highway" tire rather than a highway/off-road. Great in the rain and the quietest highway tire I've ever had. Haven't tried snow yet, thank goodness.
Costco has the $70 deal, and you don't have to do the mail in/visa card deal, they just take it off the price. Unfortunately tire rack doesn't have them in your size, so I would recommend the Defender, BUT check with Costco - same $70 deal, and they do stock Defenders. Plus you get road hazard, mounting, and lifetime rotate/balance for $15. If you go tire rack, it's extra for road hazard, and as a local tire dealer told me, unless I sell you the tires, I won't do free lifetime rotate/balance, plus you'd still have initial mounting charges and shipping charges.
Looked at Costco website, $393.96 after the $70 off deal, plus $15 install, plus taxes.

If you hold the button down for a few seconds it will recalibrate the tpms system to whatever the pressure is currently at. When the light on the dash flashes it has reset. It is explained in the owners manual.
