Hello team, New guy here and in the process of buying 2015 soon. My “new” question: why is the diff lock only offered in rear and not front? Has it always been this way?

this is what you have atrac for, which all the people who are 4x4 and not TRD OR's are jealous of. :p

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I've had a GM truck in the past with front and rear posi.... it was a special package when you got a snow plow. They are sometimes difficult to handle anyway.

Think about it... both rear wheels spinning and 1 front spinning, you still have 1 wheel to keep you connected to the ground. Change that and allow all 4 wheels to spin on ice and you lose all contact with the ground. A couple of times I slid and spin around out of control trying to climb an icy hill.

    enough to go over stuff
Cuz 90% of people would lock the front too and try to turn and brake something. Atrac is much easier to use. Keeps the wheels spinning at the same speed over 3,000 rpm and under 5 miles an hour.
