Well, bought my first Tacoma today. It's in pretty good shape. It's a 4x4 Reg cab 5 speed. Here's some pics!

Few questions regarding cleaning... I understand I won't get the bed pristine like it was from the factory, but any tips regarding cleaning that? Second, There's a horizontal line where the paint is beginning to peel on the right side of the door in the 3rd picture. Anything I can do to keep this from peeling any further? Third, the engine bay and undercarriage has dusty/dirt on it. Any tips for cleaning that? I know I won't get some of these things perfect, but I can always try!

Edit: No tags until Monday, DMV closed before I bought the car

Clean the bed with soap and water. Then get a bed mat so shit won't slide around. Engine bays are supposed to be dirty, but if you must just get a rag and degreaser and wipe it down; I don't like to spray water in and around the engine. Get some custom floor mats like weather tek or husky. Wet Okole's are great seat covers. Those chrome hub caps pop right up and will stack in a neat pile in the trash can (thats where mine went). Nice lookin truck man.

Take it to the quarter wash and use the sprayer. Works pretty good on most of the plastics and the tires, too.

Congrats man! Truck looks good, the cleaning up is minor. But I would also recommend getting the weathertech or husky floor liners (I have husky), and also getting the bed mat.

Nice looking truck--and welcome to OUR world! I got a set of the 'husky liners' for the floor years ago--and they really work great. Had to trim them just a little w/ a razor knife, but that's ok.
Also have a bed liner in back--really wish now I'd sprang the extra bucks and getten a Line-X spray-in liner.

Yeah, I really like the look and just the "usefulness" of a regular cab if that makes sense... you buy a truck to either go offroad or to haul shit. not to transport heaps of people
