They are fantastic racks. Unfortunately they are far easier to mount in a double walled roof. The Tacoma's and Tundra's have only a single wall and the shorty metal screws will pierce right through the roof. A couple of companies sell rubber grommets the seal the exterior...not for this guy.

I have the above rack out of my 2010 DuraMax and have been itching to install it in one of the Toyotas but...

^ Your right, would work perfect. The thread and your posts have me contemplating doing much the same.
Building a false wall, genius. Just need room and car seat hooks exposed for ARB fridge on one side.

If you look at the pictures he has a single screw used to install the rack bracket in what he says in the text is a mounting nut that is already installed in the Tacoma. He doesn't use the 4 screws in the bracket. His is an 06 Tacoma so not sure if that mounting nut is in mine or not. Would have to take the headliner down to know for sure.

My question though is for people sitting in the back seat, would they hit their head on it? What if they are taller? I like the thought of it being completely hidden, I did look into these racks but am nervous for people in the back seat.

On a side note, those guns latch in pretty tightly? I would hate for one of them to come out. I see that safety strap too. But for how I drive down dirt roads I would imagine they aren't going any where?

Pchop those are some great looking guns. Sorry you couldn't find those birds! Shotgun looks great and a good AR Is always one of my favorites. That will probably be my next big purchase. (Yes it is big when I'm broke haha). but nice work, they look good.

That's cool. Do you think someone over 6ft can sit back there? See I have this guy friend. Since my girlfriend gets the front, I put my biootch In the back. So I couldn't do this idea cuz I wasn't sure if he would fit. But his looks great

Can you get a picture of his whole back seat? Looks like he has hanging bags under the head rests. Interested to see what hit looks like.

Parts are in order! As soon as they arrive they will be in with a gun mounted first thing. I only bought one pair this time To see how they will fit and work. But I'll post pics as soon as I get them.

Gun is mounted as we speak. Went very well, only took a few minutes to screw in the mounts and everything fits perfectly! Thoroughly impressed with myself on my first tacoma project.

That's not bad at all. It goes on the ground between the two seats?

    Window tint count?
I know this post was older but that is awesome that you found those in that condition. I love the older Remington's. I'm pretty jealous.
