If you use the truck as a truck, you will kick yourself for not getting the LB.

I got the dbl cab long bed since I am going to put a Four Wheel Camper on it and with the short bed there is only one option (Finch model) and it requires external tie downs.

    I ordered the DCLB because:
    1. I go camping a lot and on a nice night I enjoy crashing out in the bed of the truck
    2. I also do quite a bit of lake fishing and I need to be able to carry the rods easily

I agree the DCLB looks better than the DCSB but admittedly this is all preference. My favorite looking truck is the Access cab but when you have a wife, son, and dog you get what makes the most sense and still makes you happy not what the dealer tells you to buy :)

I don't understand the points made about fishing rods fitting in the long bed?

I own over a dozen fishing rods in lengths from 4.5' to 11'. Most of these rods break down into two or three pieces, and I can fit all of them into the cab of my truck or my short bed without problems. A 6' or longer rod is not going to fit into a long bed without breaking it down.

For me it was wanting locker/A-Trac + wanting double cab = short bed. I have successfully hauled a king size mattress, an 8' sleeper sofa, and a full sheets of plywood in my short bed without any problems using proper tie downs and having the tailgate down. If 1' of bed space makes or breaks your truck buying decision and you haul stuff on a regular basis, then you should probably be looking at a full size in my opinion.

I bought a longbed. I have a surfboard, fishing poles, ect that I wanted the longer bed. My friends bought the short bed and it looks sportier and probably offroads a little easier as well. The longbed does not fit in my garage and the short bed would of. I still cant decide which one i like better but atleast i have the more storage in back.

All my fishing rods are expensive 250$ or more and do not break down. I do not own any two piece rods (although they dont help me catch more fish haha). laying in bed seems more secure than up over bed flapping around in wind. this is a big benefit of longbed for me.

    Yeah what he said.

i have a Short Bed. i was on a camping trip recently, everything fit nicely. The only problem was with my mountain bike but i usually take the front wheel off anyway for cleaning.

    All depends on your usage.

    I like wine

I wish I would have had a LB instead of my SB 2006 that's why I got a 2005 Tundra DC and it was extremely easy to drive anywhere (I live in Seattle). My dad's 2005 CCSB Sierra 2500HD which has a HUGE turning radius has been easy to handle in almost every major city West of the Mississippi. Please stop with the crap about the LB being so difficult to drive. I service heavy duty diesel rigs and I don't jump or touch curbs IN SEATTLE. If you can't drive a DCLB, you shouldn't have a license.

I could see the DCLB being hard to drive if you're used to a car or small truck/SUV/crossover. But it shouldn't take long to get used to it.

I have no issues with swinging into a parking space or even parallel parking mine.

Having said that, I wouldn't hand the keys over to someone who wasn't used to that kind of length if they were going to be in a busy parking lot.

I watched a very good driver who is just used to small cars have a heck of a time with mine a few days ago. Wasn't as easy as he expected!

The 25-point-turn thing on trails is absolutely true, though. Did that once and after shifting into reverse for about the 4th time I thought I was going to be there all night.

It's also true that it will not fit in many home garages.

I like the LB and have LB envy :D
My little SB has done a lot though, my landscaping business, camping w/ kayaks & bikes.
I pack that little sucker full :)
Now parking, my 2011 Tundra was tough & didn't fit in the garage
& didn't like small ATMs or tiny trail heads.
    Plus my dog hated it.
    Thus it went bye bye
