Yes and I've had it in the shop 6 times. Rusted rear bumper, windshield squeal, failed air blower, transmission leak, battery drained and would not take a charge, door handle broke, not to mention 2 recalls ... Glad it was still under warranty. It only has 30000 km on it and trust me this truck is babied.

Worst vehicle I've had unless you compare it to the 1985 Ford Mustang I used to own but Ford is in its own special class.

Lot of Texas trucks are more fucked up than yours.

    What's the angle again?

I guess you have something to gripe about. What doesn't add up is another person whose truck was built in Mexico is the best they've had in a long line of gen2s, built in the good ol' US of A. So maybe that's a little too broad of a brush to state all Tacos built in Mexico are junk.

That makes me wonder if my 2012 Sport was built in Mexico. The steering column clunkiness that everyone has was non existent in mine, and when checked it was indeed adjusted correctly within the sleeve and collar. The vibration issues that everyone has was non existent as well. No shudders, no vibes. Nothing. Build quality on this truck has been top notch and I have only suffered from a minuscule amount of actual defective parts, that which were all electronics. Not mechanical.

These Mexican's must had built my truck with some Vamonos beer with extra focus added in it. Andale amigos! :D

It'll say on your door tag, I think. If not, VIN will tell you.

Don't let reality and logic fool you into disagreeing with the point of the thread, that Mexican built Tacoma's are subpar because they're built in Mexico by mexicans.

Not saying there's something wrong with Mexico. I'm just saying.. hell I don't know. Viva Tacoma?!

I'd rather have my truck built in Mexico than in Cuba. I think we can all agree on that.

The 2016 Tacoma is Cuban built, closely resembles the 1951 Plymouth sedan.

Maybe the Cubans can't build a Tacoma, but they can sure play baseball.

I wouldn't say any of my Tacoma's have been problems, the things we bitch about on these trucks are nothing compared to what you read about on domestic brand forums.

Hang out on the F-150 threads and you will learn common issues like, slip-yoke slop, EcoBoost engines that ingest condensation that builds in the IC causing an unexpected stall or stuble, fouled spark plugs at just 30-40K miles, 5.0 Coyote engines that tick or knock, and burn about a qt of oil every 1K miles. Quirky shift patterns and adaptation with the 6R80 trans, Axle wrap when towing or hauling a payload from Too soft of rear springs, plenty issues with MFT & SYNC etc...

Viva Tacoma! Their tortilla's are hand made at the factory for that crunchiness that we all know and love. I'll have a Taco supreme please.

Why not? I wouldn't mind having a Fidel Castro tested and approved product sitting in my driveway. :D

Must be that cheap labor

No way they're built in a huge factory by trained technicians. I demand a recount!

I do not give a crap that my Tacoma was built in Mexico. In fact it really does not matter considering my Tacoma runs fine.
