We just picked the tacoma up from the dealer yesterday after another failed attempt to rid it of the high speed vibration.. and fix body damage incurred while at the dealer.

Anyway, on the way to p/u groceries this afternoon I turned the blower on to high, the A/C light and re-circulation switch lights were illuminated but it's just blowing warm air. I tried turning the A/C off/on by depressing the switch, nothing happens, the light stays on and still no cold air. The recirc switch does work though.

I called the dealer a few minutes ago, service manager has never heard of this problem. So we talked about resetting the system by disconnecting the battery. Tried that, still no worky.

Anybody experience this problem, if so.. what's the fix?

    Thanks, Ken

You have a 2014, the fix is take it to the dealer.

Edit out of curiosity, is the compressor running when you press the ac button?

The A/C button is illumnated as soon as you turn the fan/blower on, pushing the button has no effect. I pulled the A/C fuse, started the truck, turned on the blower, couldn't hear the compressor. Plugged the fuse back in and you could hear the compressor engage and feel the engine "load" a bit. No cold air though.

Yeah, I was hoping it was simple thing.. so tired of have to reschedule appointments and carpool back and forth (100+ mile round trip).. is a real pain.

Think I might try approaching the toyota dealer in our area, not sure they'll want to bite into this rotten apple though.

Yeah, the light is not flashing..just stuck in the on position (lit up), but not functioning position. I'll take in as soon as I can schedule it.

    Blow the dealers wallet!!!

i just paid 350.00 for new rotors from Toyota
only because the TRD Brake Pads have and they are warping Rotors like no other
Toyota said they would warranty the pad & rotors so shit I let them install them bad
    boys for warranty .

i have already warped 2 sets of toyota and brembro rotors and had them both sets turned twice!

Thanks again for the suggestions.. At least I know where to find all the fuses and relays now!

I did check all the fuses, connections and basically looked for anything obvious. Couldn't find anything, took to the dealer. They found a crack/fracture in the line leading to the compressor. I asked if the characteristic vibration of the vehicle caused it.. they couldn't say what the cause was. Anyway, it'll be ready to picked up Thursday morning.

Dealer replaced the defective line going to compressor, recharged the system and tested it. Seems to be working well now.

    Thanks again for the suggestions.

I've had my 12 in twice for a hole in the aluminum parts of the ac hoses. Did the same thing you are describing.

Man you sure got a haunted truck on your hands. I think it needs an exorcist and Toyota needs kicked in the nuts for their shameful behavior with you and that truck.
