lean spacer

I'm installing my 5100s tomorrow. I'm clear on the whole procedure, except the lean spacer. I know, it's the simplest part of the process. I've searched alot and found nothing. does the spacer go on top of the whole coilover assembly, or do I need to add it in when I switch my coils to the new struts? Pretty sure it goes on top of the coilover, but I'd rather ask a dumb question than make a dumb mistake.

If you're not going for the full 2.5" you can set the left ring in the top 2.5 slot and the right in the 3rd - 1.75" slot and not use the spacer. The spacer is the same thickness as the ring slots (or at least mine is/was). I like this setup better because the three coilover nuts at the top are able to thread all the way down the studs - unless you change them out to longer.

I have 265/70/17s and my front from ground to fender at middle of hub measures 37.75" both left and right and my rear with progressive 1.5 AAL measures 38".
