Why exactly are front spacer lifts bad?

I didn't read through the whole thread but, what if I am going to get a leveling kit spacer? I have a prerunner and I don't off road really at all.

That's what I asked in the first post, why not just read the thread.

Maybe I'm wrong but are t the ome struts and springs gaining lift based on the springs length and stiffness? Is the ome strut with spring better then the ome spring on a 5100 I have that's set to 0?

OP, why are you asking a question when you already know in your head that you are just going to buy spacers? Are you looking for approval from people on an online forum?

Just spend your money how you want. Buy some spacers. Maybe you will never have any problems. Maybe your coilover will break. If so people are always giving away stock components so you can just buy another and reuse your spacer.

You are so off it's funny. I will not be buying spacers after reading all the info on them. I don't ask for people's approval, I don't create polls asking what rims to buy. I'm actually asking questions so I buy what will be best for me.

If you want a great ride on road and arent worried about spending the extra money, kings, icons, or fox are a good way to go. People dont only buy them for their offroad ability. Yes they are a little costly but you can get an Icon stage 1 kit with 600# coils and it should ride smooth as a hot knife through butter

    Thanks guy, great responses!
Cliff notes since you guys want to a smartass.

I asked about spacers and just on road driving. Read all the info and decided against them.
I asked what would be the ideal way to level a truck and retain a smooth ride.
Everyone and their mom suggests preloading springs.
Looks like a coilover might be the only option that doesn't compromise a smooth ride.

I just gave you a legitimate response on how to do exactly what you wanted. I even gave you a recommendation on exactly what to buy.

Yeah I know and I'm looking at prices of different coilovers vs the ome package. I did not say your recommendation was bad.

Rock, that's basically what I have on my old truck I'm selling. I have 5100's at 0 with ome 883 springs. The ride is good except for all the small road trash. The ome springs area get then stock so you are basically preloading them just like setting your 5100's to .85 and stock springs. Both of those setups compromise the initial suspension stroke that absorbs the small road trash.

I know i may get shunned on TW for this, but here is my experience.

I put a readylift 3" kit with a drop down bracket and blocks in the back, on my 13' TRD OR 4x4. The ride is as smooth as ever. Ride quality has not changed at all. Also, contrary to popular belief, iv done some serious mudding and off roading on this Lift and nothing has happened, nothing has broken, and ride has not changed a bit. I love this lift and personally think the common trend on TW which is to replace all the suspension is an overkill depending on what your using your truck for.

Don't you understand how this works? When people ask questions, they don't want answers, especially if they are answers they don't want to hear, and especially if they are the truth. They just like to hear themselves ask questions.

    Duh.
