Anyone else notice front tires scraping or rubbing wheel wells or something when the truck is turned in reverse after traveling for longish periods on the highway?

I've got a 14 double cab 4wd with rims that are very close to factory size and original factory tires. Normally no scraping or rubbing when fully cranked on any turn but it seems something in there is getting mis-shaped by the wind or something on long drives and causing this.

Would like to know what it is if anyone has any insight. Asked dealer today but the seemed to know nothing.

A light breeze or strong wind should have no bearing to the problem. Your aftermarket rims are not the correct size... that's my guess.

BTW, the dealer won't lose sleep over this, as you have aftermarket equipment on it.

Do you see marks where it is rubbing?

Your aftermarket wheels are probably the issue here.

Did it do this before you replaced the wheels?

If the answer to the above is No, we have the answer.

Not sure if it helps, but I had this problem when turning in reverse.

As others mentioned, do you see any visible marks?

    I say it's the wheels.

Thanks. Just not sure of what it could be and wanted to see if anyone else had experienced the issue.

Hard for me to believe it's the wheels as they are basically the same size as factory/stock wheels and the issue doesn't occur in regular everyday use only after driving for a while on highway.

Here's the comparison on the wheels:

    XD Enduro Size 17" x 9", Offset -6, Backspacing 4.76"
TRD Sport Alloy Wheels Size 17" x 7.5", Offset +30 mm, Backspacing 5.5"

Never drove truck with factory rims. It went straight from dealer to get new rims on.

Last night when i got home and experienced the issue again I did all I could to inspect what was going on and could not see anything causing it. Nothing obviously out of shape or bent back by the wind...no visible marks anywhere that I could see.

Likely not a major problem but would be nice to identify so I know wha going on after a long drive at high speeds.

This is most likely the problem. Take 'em off, problem solved...

It's your wheels. You change the backspacing, you might rub the flaps, fact of life.

Run stock wheels w/ agressive 265/75r16 tires and they'll rub also - particularly after a long drive....

I already do run 265/75's and I have lots of space and never rub on and off road, stock suspension also.

Worked like that for me for 25k miles. One day after driving 3+ hrs at interstate speeds I stopped for gas, backed to pump, it caught an rubbed. After it was grabbed by the tire and bent in some it started happening more frequently, then all the time.

^ This. I had the same problem. Four screws and you're done.
