Hello, I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner, and I am trying to buy all the parts needed for an aftermarket hood with a scoop. So Far I have bought the actual hood, the scoop bulge, and a mesh insert. What else, if anything do I need to buy? Can't I just use the parts from my old hood? Thanks in advanced.

Yeah, you can just use the parts from your current hood. That's exactly what I did.

I had to buy some new clips that hold the windshield washer fluid hose in place (guys painting and installing new hood broke the clips) so be careful when you remove them.

If you have all that, why not try to slap it together to see what else you may or may not need

Indeed, i only know of toyota dealer selling the scoop for the hoods. There might be a company making them now. But if he bought it from toyota with all the hardware. There shouldn't be a problem with installing it. Beside paint

How did the paint job go? I am thinking of buying hood from dealer but am hesitant about paint job. I only will do it if I can get an awesome paint job.

What do you like to look for in a paint shop?
What in your book makes a paint shop "awesome"?

    Results.

Hang out. Find a wreck going in, and what it looks like coming out.

Find who does hot rods or restorations. Go to local cruise nights and ask questions.

Ask a shop for references. Look at the work in full sunlight and in shade.

    Etc.

I went with the aftermarket Hood scoop. Couldn't be happier even had the underside of the hood painted with a satin clear,
also replaced the emission label with a factory one. Took my time and reused the windshield washer clips .

TXTRDPro, do you have any before and after pics without and with the aftermarket scoop?
