Go somewhere quiet ... read this aloud to yourself ... "... looks much more grown up and professional at age 36 ..." ... let it sink in for a moment ... now ask yourself ... does a doublecab pickup TRUCK really make me grown up and professional looking?

As a post script ... I can see as a doublecab owner for 12 days allows you to make this sweeping generalization.

LOL...dbl cabs are for guys with wives who don't "allow" them to get a pickup truck unless it has 4-doors, so they can chauffeur the kids to soccer practice..no dis-respect of course!:p

I had a couple of xcab Toyota pickups because at the time, it was all Toyota made for more room in the cabin. No extra doors, just seats that slid forward.
My 2006 & 2013 have been DC short beds. Sandwiched in between was a 2011 Tundra DC. I really liked the forward opening back doors on that tundra. I think that is what I couldn't get past on the AC was the suicide doors.
I love the looks of the AC if the rear doors were different & would own one in a heartbeat.

On both sides of the discussion, some of the craziest concepts/assumptions I've ever read.

    Good entertainment though.

Why is there a rule? Just curious, I mean I'm not prejudice one of my dream trucks is a '70 single cab C20 long bed, so I feel you. But today, with soccer, working class parents, shuttling Grandma and PaPa nothing less than four full doors on a truck is practical.

I mean serious I've read through 90% of the self centered comments in the AC thread. Most are like "Yeah got the AC so I don't get stuck driving" or "So I don't have to drive anyone else around but my dog"

Again to each their own, I've simply stated why it doesn't appeal to my needs, it's fairly obvious by trucks available for sale, the vast majority see it this way. Enjoy the extra, extended, Space (Isuzu), super, and access cabs while you can, as I bet with the EPA going the direction they are, the full four door crew will soon be the only option.

Wait...Pool Runner...you're actually serious about this DC vs. AC thing? Whoa. I thought this was all a joke, I didn't realize it was "Serious Day" on the Internet today. Sheesh.

It's fun and both entertaining. It's like stirring a Sport .vs Off-Road thread and storing the pot in the Off Road thread and waiting for the Sport guys to come in and get all on the defensive.

Some of you are taking this way to seriously. Almost feels like the 2dr .vs 4DR debate on the JK forums.

It's all fun and games until someone gets an eye poked out, then it's no longer a game as now you need to find the eye that popped out.

Cheers ya'all and carry on. For real.

I drive an xtra cab and am in high school haha :anonymous: also you guys keep talking about function, define "function" getting grocery's, going to soccer practice, or how about function as in going to get lumber, hauling things the dump, to some the bigger bed is better over the cab. I guess the exception to the is the dclb, but it seems most have a dcsb, depends on ones needs.

Really? I have an AC and want a DC, so I would normally be on your side, but you're assumptions are at best asinine.

I would say MOST of the time people say they get an AC because they wanted a long bed, didn't want a DCLB, and didn't need the back seats anyway.

In fact, since it was my brother who bought my truck, and I bought it from him, I asked him why he didn't get a DCSB. He said he wanted a TRD OR and needed the bed to haul his street bike to track days, and the TRD OR doesn't come in DCLB (and he didn't want a truck that long anyway).

    Hmm, totally selfish reasons huh?

Hell no. I don't have kids, not married, college. I have a DC 1st gen and look at all that extra room I got when I need it. Don't be jealous cause you don't have 4 doors for more whores.
