I only tow small things. A 14ft aluminum boat mostly that might be around 400lbs with the trailer. Sometimes a 400lb lawn tractor on a trailer that weighs 600lbs maybe. The 4 cyl handles all that fine and doesn't even know the boat is there.

Miniceptor, do you have a long bed for the dual sport? I am too lazy to hook up to my TT but want to know if I can tow with the tail gate down. Mine is a DCSB

Good question. I'll be towing for the first time next weekend. It's a covered trailer, I'd say 4,000 lbs. I'm glad I looked into it first, because we have a 7-pin electrical connector, which is made for trailers with brakes. For lighter trailers, you'll need a 4-pin adapter. I need to go measure this weekend, but it seems a 2" drop ball hitch is about standard for Tacos.

I have not towed 4000 pound yet I do not think but a 2 inch drop sounds about right, now I don't know if the 7 pin adapter works for those breaks or if you have to get a break assist adapter installed and then have the wire ran to that 7 Pin or not?
please if you use the 7 pin in the trailer has brakes which it probably does and it works please let me know

I've done a mod or two
I marked that I do tow because I wouldn't hesitate to and I load the bed often. Planning to build an offroad trailer, however I haven't towed with the Taco. I used to tow with our Exploder and I think that might have been what did it in (torque converter).

I tow a couple of times a week...both involve enclosed trailers. No problems.

I think your survey results will be skewed, though, because only folks who tow (or are thinking about it) will even click on this topic.

What is an 'asian workspace'? micro machine etiquette???

You do know your truck was made in the USA by Texans right? not that that would have any bearing on trailer connections either. (Trailer brakes required here for any trailer =>3500lbs.)

and yes I tow occasionally. a two place snowmobile/ATV trailer, sometimes a kayak trailer.

80 % use their truck for towing.
    Hmmm.
Maybe there ought to be a poll "how many use their Corolla to tow?"
