Backup Camera Dims When DRLs are on

2014 Toyota Tacoma -Is the backup camera supposed to dim when the daylight running lights, or any other lights for that matter, are turned on.

 

When the switch is in position 2 and 3 it will dim interior displays since its assumed you are illuminating your taillights for nighttime driving and it reduces eye strain. In position 1 the DRLs are lit but not the taillights, and the displays don't dim because they're assuming it is daylight and you need more brightness to see your mirror and head unit since there is less contrast in daylight.

 

Evidently I need to get my vehicle checked out since the display dims when I have the daylight running lights on.

 

It dims and your taillight isn't illuminated?

 

You can toggle your DTRL on and off?
